Our Rescue Kentucky Saddlebred Mare, Lilo.

She was rescued from Slaughter after getting a minor hoof injury as an Amish Buggy horse. She is 16 years old.

We are still trying to put a LOT of weight on her with beet pulp, rice bran, flaxseed and alfalfa pellets mixed in with a senior feed and 24/7 pasture!

I need new photos because she is looking better even now.

UPDATE:

http://horserescue.alterra-wv.com/about-horse-haven-holler.htm

Due to our lack of success over 6 months over having Lilo improve enough to even be able to see a bit of improvement, Visually. . .

We decided to take her to a mor experienced rescue, linked above, in Ellenboro, WV by the name of Horse Haven Holler.

Look under our rescue page to get a link to read about Lilo's progress there!

I hear she is looking a bit heavier on her new feeding program, so that is great news!

My husband, John, riding Happy, another rescue from slaughter. He is around 10 years old according to his paperwork.

We found this guy needing a new home because his previous owner had abandoned him with her mother and was no

longer providing him with near enough nutrition! His name is Big John!

He is up for adoption to a GREAT, Forever Home Only!

Adoption requires a "no sell" contract

ADOPTED to a great new home in Virginia 11/2009!

Big John in Sept. 2009, after having him for less than a month! What food will do!

Big John getting "BIGGER" daily here in October!

Sadly, Rufus contracted the M-worm, from the white tailed deer around here, and even though he had been wormed against them, we had to have

the vet out recently to put him to sleep, which was very sad.

The Llama, KEISHA, that we got with Rufus is still thriving and doing SO VERY WELL!
